Freelang Welsh-English dictionary

Welsh belongs to the Brittonic branch of the Celtic languages (Gaelic languages being the other branch). It has a total of 750,000 speakers, mostly in Wales (UK) but also as far as Argentina (Patagonia), where there is a Welsh colony of 25,000 people. The Welsh language has enjoyed a revival since 1993, when it was given equal status with English in the public sector in Wales.
