The Tsakhur speakers of Russia and Azerbaijan Tsakhur is a language spoken by the Tsakhurs, who live in the northern part of Azerbaijan and the southwestern part of Russian. About 9,770 people speak this language in Russia and another 13,000 people speak the language in Azerbaijan. Tsakhur belongs to the North-Eastern Caucasian language family. Tsakhur is a language spoken by about 30,000 people, the Tsakhurs, in northern Azerbaijan and southwestern Dagestan (Russia). Tsakhur is a Northeast Caucasian language family, closely related to Lezgi. It is written with the Latin alphabet in Azerbaijan and the Cyrillic alphabet in Russia.
