Romani (or Romany or Gipsy) is the language of the Roma and Sinti, who came originally from now northern India and parts of Pakistan. It is an Indo-Aryan language (together with Hindi, Gujarati, etc.). Romani is spoken by a total of 4.8 million people in 42 European countries, including Romania, Russia, Serbia and Montenegro, Bulgaria and Slovakia.
